Posting is the department that is in charge of processing the payments and denials that the insurance companies send us after the claims are created, we are in charge of downloading the bank statements and assigning the payments made by the insurance company to those clients, thus keeping an accounting record of the money coming into the hospital and making sure that the cycle continues, i.e. if the patient's procedures have been paid, we have concluded.
The Prior Authorization Department is in charge of processing the authorization for Medication, Radiology, and injections. Our goal is to provide the necessary assistance in all the treatments required by our doctors, meaning: sending all documentation that supports medical necessity. We followed insurance and injections limitations guidelines.
Insurance verification is the process of making sure that all patients are good to go for their appointments and that all services rendered will be covered by their insurance. The department needs to keep in mind Dr’s networks, referrals, state coverage for outside plans, and benefits, among other aspects to provide accurate information to clinics and other related departments like billing and authorizations. Our main goal is to ensure that we will receive payment from the insurance companies.
